Colac Otway Shire Council acts following community safety insights
On the 29th of April 2024 the Kennett Community Action Group submitted a proposal to Council highlighting recent safety risks and on-going challenges our small community are experiencing within the precinct.
The proposal offered considered, low-cost solutions to help guide visitor behaviour and minimise risk.

The short-term traffic management solutions agreed upon while not perfect, and certainly won’t be aesthetically pleasing are a critical step in managing visitor volumes, as we grapple with our share of the estimated 6.6 million visitors expected to the region in the next 12 months.
This has been an important community led win, with the Geelong City Deal infrastructure improvements still 12-18 months away at best.
