In efforts to keep the wildlife wild, bird proof bins have been installed throughout Kennett River

The Kennett Community Action Group have worked closely with the Colac Otway Shire to deliver improved waste solutions, within the allocated budget.

Bird proof bins have now been installed throughout our community, each one with ashtrays - to manage sick and aggressive birds who were bin diving, and to encourage visitors to safely butt out.

KCAG also advocated for bins in the neighbouring towns of Wye River and Separation Creek so as not to push the issue of birds bin diving onto them.

The two solar compacting bins will compact 5 times the waste of a regular bin - meaning less trucks entering our busy precinct.

Another win, no more tipped over bins (ever) in the strong winds requiring locals to clean up the spills and rubbish finding its way into our pristine environment.
