Campaign Launched To Create Awareness +
Community Participation

We have an infestation of sea spurge along our coast scape here at Kennett River, and Wye to Wongarra (W2W) have lead the charge in regular working bees to get on top of the spread.

In collaboration, the Kennett Community Action Group, W2W and GORCAPA has created an ongoing campaign to encourage beachgoers to remove five plants when they visit the beach to contribute to us getting on top of these infestations.

There are bins that will be strategically placed in zones where our community are targeting removal, and these can be moved around as locations/focus areas change.

GORCAPA will be regularly monitoring and emptying the bins to ensure the momentum continues. This initiative strategically aligns to their Coastal Vegetation Strategy 2022.

If you see an infestation of sea spurge and want us to add it to our list of focus sites, please send the details to us here.
